32-year-old man identified as Jafet Shaanika allegedly committed suicide in his room in Walvis Bay. He was found dead on Friday morning.
According to the police report, the last time he spoke to other occupants in the house was on Thursday. The following morning, housemates attempted to call him but received no response. When they entered his room, they discovered him lifeless.
Police say the body was removed from the scene and transported to Walvis Bay State Hospital for official certification, before being taken to the police mortuary.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. The police further encouraged the public to seek support when facing emotional or mental challenges, as suicide remains a concern in the region.
