Rapist suspect arrested while seeking prayers at a church in Kavango East

A man who had been on the run for several weeks was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, 15 November 2025, after police found him inside a gospel church during a night service in Ndama location, Rundu.
The suspect was wanted in connection with two serious cases reported in October at Ncaute village. According to police information, he is accused of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault by threat under the Domestic Violence Act involving his biological sister.
He is also facing a rape charge after a 14-year-old Grade 7 learner from Ncaute Primary School reported that she was sexually assaulted.
Police say the suspect had been hiding from law enforcement until his arrest at the church. He is expected to appear in court soon.
