NUST FC through to the round of 32 after winning the Khomas Second Division NFA Cup

NUST FC have been crowned champions of the Khomas Second Division NFA Cup after a tense and entertaining final played at the DTS Stadium, sealing their place in the national Round of 32 competition.
The final against Swallows FC ended 1–1 in regulation time, with both sides showing resilience in a tightly contested encounter. The match was ultimately decided by penalties, where NUST FC held their composure to claim a 6–5 victory in a dramatic shootout.
The triumph caps off a demanding three-day tournament that highlighted the growing competitiveness and depth of talent within the Khomas regional football structure. Teams battled through preliminaries, knockout rounds, and high-pressure fixtures before the final two earned their place in the championship match.
The competition opened on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, with several decisive preliminary fixtures. Julinho Athletic FC impressed with a 2–0 win over Riverheights FA, while Polaris FC secured a 3–1 victory against DSFA. Patriots FC advanced comfortably with a 3–0 win over Black Africa (FF), and Windhoek United edged DTS FC 5–4 on penalties after a 1–1 draw.
In the quarter-finals on Wednesday, 20 May, NUST FC progressed with a hard-fought 2–1 win over Julinho Athletic FC. Swallows FC booked their semi-final place after a narrow 1–0 victory against Polaris FC, while Windhoek United defeated Young Generation 3–1. Rockstone FC also advanced following a 2–1 win over Patriots FC.
The semi-finals, played on Thursday, 21 May, delivered more drama. NUST FC secured their final spot with a 1–0 win over Rockstone FC, while Swallows FC overcame Windhoek United in a thrilling 3–2 encounter.
The championship match lived up to expectations, with both sides demonstrating tactical discipline and determination. After 90 minutes, the score remained locked at 1–1, forcing the contest into a penalty shootout where NUST FC ultimately prevailed 6–5.
With this victory, NUST FC now shift focus to the national stage, where they will represent the Khomas Region in the Round of 32, carrying momentum and confidence from their hard-earned regional success.
