Punaje Katjimune Extends Stay at FC Ongos

FC Ongos FC has confirmed that young midfielder and winger Punaje Katjimune has signed a contract extension with the club, keeping him in Windhoek after an impressive breakthrough since joining last year. The club has not revealed the length of the new deal.
Katjimune, who arrived from Kasaona Football Academy on a two-year deal in 2024 for an undisclosed fee, has quickly grown into one of the club’s most exciting young prospects.
Born on June 6, 2005, the 19-year-old has already taken important steps in his career, including earning a senior debut for the Brave Warriors during a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Liberia.
His rise has been closely linked to his standout performances at the 2024 Newspaper Cup, where he represented the Omaheke Region and caught the attention of national team coach Collin Benjamin.
Since then, Katjimune has continued to develop at FC Ongos, where he is seen as part of the club’s long-term project focused on nurturing young talent.
The contract extension underlines both the player’s steady progress and the club’s confidence in his future contribution, as he continues to establish himself in Namibian football.
