USA Cruise Past Paraguay 4-1 in Dominant World Cup Group D Victory

The United States delivered an impressive attacking display to defeat Paraguay 4-1 in their World Cup group-stage clash, maintaining control of the match from start to finish.
Paraguay made a dream start when Damian Bobadilla found the back of the net in the 7th minute to give his side an early lead. However, the hosts responded strongly as Folarin Balogun struck twice before halftime to turn the game around.
Balogun equalized in the 31st minute after being set up by Christian Pulisic, before adding his second goal deep into first-half stoppage time from a Malik Tillman assist to give the USA a commanding 3-0 advantage at the break.
Paraguay pulled one back in the 73rd minute through Mauricio Prado, assisted by Julio Enciso, but any hopes of a comeback were ended in stoppage time when Giovanni Reyna finished off a move created by Alex Freeman to seal a convincing 4-1 victory.
The win strengthens the USA’s position in the group D, while Paraguay will need a positive result in their next match to keep their hopes of progressing alive.
