Cynthia Veiko Regrets Opposing Minister Hon. Dr. Esperance Luvidao’s Appointment

Cynthia Veiko, the founder of Oilong Tender, an organization that trains individuals on how to secure tenders and provides tender updates through its website, has publicly expressed regret over her previous stance against the appointment of Hon. Dr. Esperance Luvidao as a minister.

Dr. Luvidao’s appointment was met with mixed reactions from the Namibian public, with some opposing it on the grounds that, despite holding Namibian citizenship, her parents are of foreign origin. Many questioned whether she should be considered fully Namibian.

Taking to social media, Veiko shared her change of heart, citing biblical inspiration:

“I have been part of the conversation against the appointment of this young lady, citing the fact that she has foreign parents and is a first-generation Namibian. The Holy Spirit this morning reminded me of Joseph and Daniel, who found favor in God’s eyes. Even as foreigners, they held high positions. Joseph was second in charge and ruled Egypt with wisdom, benefiting both the people of Egypt and his own land.

Out of obedience to my Father, I hereby withdraw my lack of support for her appointment (not that it made any difference). I don’t know anything about her private life, so my only issue was her ‘Namibianess,’ and God has reminded me that it does not matter. Philippians 4:8 (ESV): ‘Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.’”

Hon. Dr. Esperance Luvidao is among the youngest ministers in Namibia. Many believe she will bring positive change to her department, given her successful track record in business and health. She has already made an impact by reaching rural areas and is also known as a motivational speaker.

Her appointment continues to be a topic of discussion, but supporters remain optimistic about her ability to serve the nation effectively.
