Flavour Opens Up About Past Struggle With Masturbation Addiction

Nigerian music star popular Chinedu Okoli popular known as Flavour has opened up about a difficult chapter of his personal life, sharing details of how he battled what he described as a masturbation addiction for two years before eventually overcoming it.
The singer made the revelation during a TikTok live session with friends, where he reflected on his younger years and the challenges he faced while dealing with the habit.
Flavour explained that the issue began after he had his first sexual experience but later lost contact with the woman involved. He said that, without a regular partner, he turned to masturbation and gradually developed a dependency on the habit after being introduced by a friend to Mapouka dance videos from Congo.
According to the musician, the addiction affected his confidence and social interactions, leaving him feeling uncomfortable and isolated even during normal activities with friends, such as playing football.
In an attempt to seek guidance, Flavour said he approached his mother’s pastor, who presented himself as a guidance and counselling expert. He was reportedly advised to undergo a 21-day fast accompanied by prayers, but the singer said the habit returned shortly after.
Flavour later shared his struggles with a bassist he worked with, who suggested that his challenges were linked to his young age and lack of a consistent sexual relationship. The bassist then took him to a brothel and paid for him to have sexual relations with a woman.
The singer revealed that he eventually began using money earned from playing musical instruments to visit brothels regularly, saying the experience helped him move away from the masturbation habit.
Flavour’s confession highlights a personal journey of dealing with addiction, seeking help and finding ways to overcome a challenge that he said affected his life during his younger years.
