African Stars FC have emerged as the champions of the prestigious N$1.5 million MTC Maris Cup, defeating Young African FC 1-0 in a tightly contested final. The decisive moment came in the 17th minute when Awillo Stephanus found the back of the net, securing the title for the Stars.

The victory marks another milestone for African Stars FC, one of Namibia’s top clubs, as they lift the MTC Maris Cup in front of a packed stadium. The tournament, which has been a showcase of top-tier Namibian football talent, saw thrilling matches leading up to the final, with Stars proving their dominance throughout.

Mbakondja Tjahikika, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder for African Stars FC, was named the MTC Maris Cup 2025 Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances. His stellar displays earned him a N$20,000 cash prize and further solidified his reputation as one of the most exciting talents in Namibian football.
