Nandi-Ndaitwah Engages Ovambanderu Leadership on Community Concerns

President Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has met with a delegation from the Ovambanderu Traditional Authority, led by Ombara Eben Tjozohongo Nguvauva II, at State House to discuss matters affecting the community.


The meeting follows a commitment by President Nandi-Ndaitwah to facilitate an engagement with the traditional authority after the Ombara requested an opportunity for a formal discussion.

“I undertook to speed up the process, and I am happy that the meeting has taken place today,” President Nandi-Ndaitwah said.


During the meeting, Ombara Nguvauva II thanked the President for granting the delegation an opportunity to engage with the Government.

He also expressed appreciation for the Government’s assistance to members of the Ovambanderu community who recently returned to Namibia from Botswana, particularly support in accessing national documents and social assistance programmes.


The traditional leader further raised concerns relating to the well-being and development of the Ovambanderu community, including access to education, healthcare and improved services in resettlement areas.

The engagement forms part of Government’s continued efforts to strengthen dialogue with traditional authorities and ensure that communities across Namibia are included in the country’s development agenda.
