Kondjashili Sheehama scored a hat-trick to inspire Desert Queens FC to a 5-3 victory over Rehoboth Roses FC, giving the Erongo-based side a positive start to their playoff campaign.
Desert Queens dominated the first half and went into the break with a commanding 5-0 lead.
Sheehama led the scoring with three goals, while Magano Ndahomanua and Patricia Tobias each added a goal to put Desert Queens firmly in control.
Rehoboth Roses responded after the break, scoring three goals to reduce the deficit. However, Desert Queens held on to claim a 5-3 victory.
The playoffs are being contested for a place in the Women Super League, with only one team set to earn promotion at the end of the competition.
The action continues with Kanaan United FC facing Royal FC at 10:00. Royal FC will then take on Desert Queens FC at 15:00, before Rehoboth Roses FC meet Kanaan United FC at 17:00 to close the day’s action.
