Northern Namibia shares close geographical, cultural and economic links with Angola, making cross-border cooperation particularly important for businesses and communities in the northern regions.

The governors’ involvement demonstrates the importance of regional authorities in creating an enabling environment for investment, entrepreneurship and economic partnerships.

The business networking activities at the Expo are expected to give Namibian and Angolan entrepreneurs an opportunity to connect directly, explore new markets and discuss possible partnerships.

Such engagements can potentially contribute to increased trade, investment, skills development and knowledge exchange between the two countries.

The participation of higher education institutions also creates opportunities for cooperation beyond commerce, particularly in education, training, research, innovation and skills development.

Namibia and Angola have longstanding political, cultural and people-to-people relations.

The Huíla Expo provides an opportunity to build on those ties by placing greater emphasis on practical economic cooperation.

For Namibian businesses, participation in international exhibitions can provide exposure to potential customers, investors and partners while opening access to markets beyond the country’s borders.

The involvement of the governors of Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, Kunene and Omusati further highlights a collective regional approach to strengthening economic relations with Angola.

As the Expo continues in Lubango, the focus will remain on the engagements between Namibian and Angolan stakeholders and whether these interactions can translate into concrete partnerships, investment opportunities and long-term economic benefits.

The Namibian delegation’s participation in the 33rd Huíla Expo reflects the country’s continued commitment to strengthening its relationship with Angola and transforming longstanding ties into practical opportunities for businesses, institutions and communities.

For northern Namibia in particular, stronger cross-border partnerships could contribute to expanded markets, increased investment and broader regional economic development.
