The timing of the arrest also created uncertainty around the rapper’s performance schedule. BigXthaPlug was scheduled to appear at the Country Rising Festival in Winnipeg on Friday but did not perform. Organisers said his absence was due to a personal emergency.

There was also attention on his planned Iowa State Fair performance the following day. Festival officials said they were in contact with his representatives and had been informed that he was still expected to perform.

The latest arrest comes almost exactly one year after Landum faced another arrest involving marijuana and firearm allegations. He was also arrested in Arlington in February 2025 on a marijuana possession charge, which was later dismissed, according to previous reports.

At this stage, the circumstances behind the latest arrest remain unclear. The charges are allegations, and BigXthaPlug is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
