NACC Director General Eiseb Pays Courtesy Visit to National Assembly Speaker

Dr. Bryan Eiseb, substantive Director General of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Dr. Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, on 27 August 2026.

During the meeting, Dr. Eiseb briefed the Speaker on his transition from the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) to his new role at the ACC.

He emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration between the ACC and Parliament, particularly on matters relating to the Commission’s budget and parliamentary oversight of its work.

Dr. Eiseb said that under his leadership, the ACC would place greater emphasis on preventing corruption rather than merely combating it, stressing the importance of prevention, transparency and integrity in Namibian society.

“As Namibians, we should not stand on the wayside when our country needs us,” Dr. Eiseb said, reaffirming his commitment to transparency, accountability and the rule of law as he assumes his new responsibilities.

The Speaker welcomed the courtesy visit and commended Dr. Eiseb for his service across various public institutions, saying his deployment to different institutions demonstrates his potential and dedication to serving the country and its people.

Dr. Kuugongelwa-Amadhila further underscored the importance of Parliament being adequately informed about developments on the ground to enable lawmakers to formulate and pass legislation that is responsive to the needs and realities of Namibian society.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Eiseb expressed appreciation for the warm reception by the Speaker and said he looked forward to maintaining an engagement-driven approach in addressing corruption-related challenges.

“I really look forward to having that engagement approach towards solving our domestic affairs when it comes to corruption. But it’s our collective responsibility,” he said.

Dr. Eiseb cautioned against placing the responsibility for fighting corruption solely on the ACC, saying: “If people think that Bryan Eiseb is a magician, they will be disappointed. I’m not a magician.

The success of this country depends on each and every Namibian.”

The courtesy visit highlighted the importance of strengthened cooperation between the ACC and Parliament in promoting accountability, transparency, good governance and the rule of law in Namibia.
