President Nandi-Ndaitwah Heads to Luanda for Extraordinary AU Summit

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has travelled to Luanda, Angola, to attend the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

The high-level meeting is expected to focus on Africa’s ongoing peace and security challenges, with leaders examining ways to strengthen the continent’s ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.

The extraordinary session is being convened under the theme “Strengthening of Mechanisms for Conflict Prevention and Resolution in Africa.”

The discussions come as several parts of the continent continue to face political instability, armed conflicts and other security challenges, increasing calls for stronger African-led mechanisms to promote peace and stability.
