Sankwasa Explains //Khomanin Customary Leadership Procedures
Minister of Urban and Rural Development Hon. James Sankwasa has explained the customary procedures that must be followed in addressing leadership matters within the //Khomanin Traditional Authority.
Sankwasa made the remarks following his meeting with members of the //Khomanin Traditional Community on Tuesday, after the community requested an audience to raise concerns regarding traditional leadership.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasised the importance of respecting the community’s established customary processes when addressing matters concerning traditional leadership.
He said any decision relating to leadership within the Traditional Authority must be handled in accordance with the law and recognised customary practices.
Sankwasa further urged the community to follow the proper procedures provided for under the //Khomanin Traditional Authority’s customary law when pursuing their concerns.
The explanation comes amid ongoing concerns within the //Khomanin community regarding the leadership of the Traditional Authority.
