Katima Mulilo Mayor Welcomes Guests to 9th Zambezi Bream Festival
Katima Mulilo Mayor, His Worship Hon. Kabende Kabende, has officially welcomed guests, exhibitors, partners, visitors and residents of the Zambezi Region to the 9th Zambezi Bream Festival and Cultural Expo 2026.
In his remarks, Kabende said the festival is more than a celebration of bream, describing it as a celebration of the region’s culture, heritage, people and economic potential.
Held under the theme, “A Celebration of the Zambezi Region’s Heritage, Ingenuity and Cross-Border Trade,” the festival provides a platform to showcase local talent, culture, cuisine, businesses and entrepreneurship while promoting local economic development.
The Mayor encouraged visitors to explore Katima Mulilo, support local businesses and entrepreneurs, and experience the cultural richness of the Zambezi Region.
“Let us celebrate our fish. Let us celebrate our culture. Let us celebrate our heritage. But above all, let us celebrate the people of the Zambezi,” Kabende said.
