Windhoek, Rehoboth Deepen Municipal Cooperation

The Mayor of Windhoek, Cllr Sakarias Uunona, today welcomed the Mayor of Rehoboth, Cllr Jacky Jackson Khariseb, and his delegation for a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two municipalities.
The meeting focused on sharing knowledge, expertise and resources to address common challenges and improve service delivery in both communities.
Key areas of discussion included housing, emergency services, law enforcement, waste management, sanitation, sports and youth development.
Mayor Khariseb expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership between the two local authorities and reaffirmed the Rehoboth Town Council’s commitment to strengthening cooperation for the benefit of both communities.
Windhoek and Rehoboth have maintained a friendship agreement since 2003, which was most recently renewed in 2023.
The visit concluded with a shared commitment to advancing practical and mutually beneficial initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development and strengthening relations between the two municipalities.
