Three men aged between 25 and 27 to Appear in Court Over Alleged Attempted Kidnapping of Two Boys

Three men aged between 25 and 27 are expected to appear before the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court following an alleged attempt to abduct two young boys in the DRC informal settlement.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, 3 October 2026, at approximately 09:00, according to Erongo police spokesperson Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula.
Police allege that the suspects targeted two boys, aged 12 and 13, who were walking through the area to buy fish.
It is alleged that a vehicle stopped alongside the boys before three masked men got out and allegedly grabbed them in an attempt to force them into the vehicle.
The boys, who are Namibian nationals, are reportedly the son and nephew of the complainant.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged incident became more concerning after claims that the boys saw another child who appeared to be tied up inside the vehicle.
The two minors allegedly managed to escape before they could be taken away.
The three suspects, aged 25, 26 and 27, are now expected to face the court as police continue with investigations into the matter.
The allegation that another child was inside the vehicle has not been independently verified and forms part of the information surrounding the reported incident.
