Lightning Strike Kills Two Children and 58 Livestock in Kunene

Two children have died after being struck by lightning at a homestead in Okamundjaondona village in the Kunene Region on Saturday afternoon, in an incident that also claimed the lives of 57 goats and one sheep.
According to the Namibian police, the victims were an eight-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy who were allegedly alone at home when the incident occurred.
The tragedy came to light when a villager discovered what had happened and alerted neighbours and the police.
The children’s remains were subsequently transported to the Opuwo police mortuary.

The lightning strike also killed 58 livestock belonging to the same homestead, resulting in significant losses for the affected household.
