Official: NUST FC to Play in Southern Stream First Division After Acquiring City Boys’ Status

NUST FC will compete in the Southern Stream First Division during the 2026/2027 football season after the Namibia Football Association (NFA) approved the exchange of league status between the university side and City Boys FC.
The approval was confirmed in an official letter dated 15 October 2026 and signed by the NFA’s Acting General Secretary, Mabos Vries.
According to the letter addressed to the Chairperson of the Southern Stream First Division, the association reviewed an application submitted by both clubs before approving the proposed exchange, subject to the applicable NFA statutes, rules and regulations.
Under the approved arrangement, NUST FC will take up City Boys FC’s place in the Southern Stream First Division, while City Boys FC will compete in the Khomas Regional Second Division for the 2026/2027 season.
The NFA further clarified that the exchange of league status does not exempt either club from the promotion and relegation requirements applicable at the end of the season.
Both teams will therefore be required to comply with the relevant regulations governing their respective competitions.
The approval also requires the relevant league and competition records to be updated to reflect the change.
The development confirms NUST FC’s participation in Namibia’s second-tier football competition for the upcoming season, while City Boys FC will continue its campaign in the Khomas Regional Second Division.
