The police in Khorixas are looking for a man who left a small baby girl with a teenage girl outside the Shoprite store and then disappeared. The little girl, who appears to be between one and two years old, was left alone and is now safe in the care of the authorities.

According to reports, the incident took place on Thursday evening around 5:00 PM. A 13-year-old girl was sitting outside the Shoprite store when a man, dressed completely in black, approached her. He handed her the baby and told her that he was going to his car to get the baby’s belongings. However, he never returned.

The man reportedly spoke in Herero, but it is believed he may be a Damara speaker. After waiting for a while and realizing that the man was not coming back, the teenager went to inform her father about what had happened.

The girl’s father then took the baby to the Khorixas Police Station and explained the situation to the officers. The baby girl was taken immediately to the hospital by the police for medical attention and to make sure she was healthy and safe. Fortunately, she appeared to be in good condition, though she was clearly abandoned and needed care.

Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the police spokesperson, confirmed the incident. She said that an investigation has already started. As part of their efforts, the police are reviewing CCTV footage from Shoprite recorded on Thursday, in the hope that it will help them identify the man who left the child behind.

So far, the identity of the baby girl and the man who left her remains unknown. The police are urging anyone who might have seen something or who may recognize the baby or the suspect to come forward with information.

If you know anything about this case, please report it to the nearest police station as soon as possible. Even the smallest detail could help in finding out who the child is and why she was abandoned.

Authorities and community members hope that someone will recognize the child and come forward to help reunite her with her family or to ensure she finds a safe and loving home.
