Fay Kavara Pinto, a former IPC member and community mobilizer from the Kavango East Region, has publicly reaffirmed her support for SWAPO, stating that the ruling party remains the only political organization capable of truly improving the lives of Namibians.

Pinto, who is now officially a member of SWAPO once again, used a recent party meeting to speak out about her decision to leave IPC and return to her political roots. In a video clip that she posted on her social media, she reflected on her time in the opposition party, saying: “I’m a leader who was in their offices. I saw, I heard, I learned, and I experienced, and I realized that there is nothing in IPC.”

She continued by affirming her belief that “SWAPO is the only party that will improve people’s lives.”

During her time in IPC, Pinto had built a strong reputation as a hardworking and committed member, known for her success in mobilizing supporters and expanding the party’s presence at the grassroots level. However, her recent comments revealed a deep dissatisfaction with IPC’s leadership and internal direction, factors that played a central role in her return to SWAPO.

In a separate social media post, Pinto addressed the backlash she has received since her departure from IPC: “Insulting from the day I left IPC till today, it shows who they really are, glued on my timeline. Accept and move on.”

Her remarks have been welcomed by several members of the SWAPO community in Kavango East, with many describing her return as a sign of renewed confidence in the party’s mission. One regional coordinator commented: “Comrade Fay’s voice is important. Her experience speaks for many who have gone through the same disappointment with IPC.”

Whether her message will influence others to follow remains to be seen, but one thing is clear, Fay Kavara Pinto has made her position known, and she is standing firmly with SWAPO.
