Namibia’s Selma Kamanya Shines Bright at Miss World 2025

Opal Suchata of Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 at a glittering grand finale held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana. The event marked the 72nd edition of the international beauty pageant and brought together 108 contestants from around the globe for a month-long celebration of culture, service, and purpose.

Among the standout performances of the night was Namibia’s Selma Kamanya, who proudly secured a place in the Top 8 finalists and was awarded the title of Top Model Africa. Kamanya also finished second in the Africa continental group, with Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje selected as the continent’s official representative in the Top 4.

Kamanya’s participation earned widespread recognition as she consistently impressed in various segments of the competition, including fashion, public speaking, and social impact. Her strong performance in the modelling category earned her the Top Model Africa title, celebrating her elegance, confidence, and runway excellence.

The Miss World 2025 pageant featured a competitive process that narrowed 108 contestants to a Top 40, then Top 20, and finally Top 8, before selecting four continental winners. Kamanya advanced through all stages and was among the final eight contestants globally.

Opal Suchata (Thailand) was ultimately crowned Miss World 2025. Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje finished as first runner-up, followed by Poland’s Maja Klajda and Martinique’s Aurélie Joachim.

The Miss World Festival, hosted in India for the third time, included cultural tours, charitable missions under the “Beauty With a Purpose” banner, and several competitive events promoting women’s leadership and global awareness. Kamanya’s representation of Namibia stood out as one of the country’s strongest showings in recent pageant history.
