Zondie, Jussi, and 2Bu Snubbed as MGEEE Becomes Lone Kavango West Artist at Nkurenkuru Expo

The entertainment line-up for the upcoming Nkurenkuru Expo has sparked discussion after only one prominent artist from Kavango West secured a place on the performance roster.
Among the well-known musicians from the region, only MGEEE has been confirmed to perform, leaving out several popular hometown artists who have played a significant role in promoting Nkurenkuru and the wider Kavango West Region through their music.
Notable names absent from the line-up include Zondie, Jussi, 2Bu, Jazz, and several other local artists who have built strong followings while consistently representing their home region on national platforms.
Despite the limited representation from Kavango West, the entertainment programme features a strong contingent of performers from neighbouring Kavango East, with many of the confirmed artists expected to entertain festivalgoers during the expo.
The line-up has already generated mixed reactions on social media, with some residents expressing disappointment over the exclusion of several homegrown artists, while others have welcomed the inclusion of artists from across the two Kavango regions.
The Nkurenkuru Expo remains one of Kavango West’s flagship annual events, bringing together businesses, exhibitors, and entertainers to promote economic development, tourism, and local culture. As preparations continue, attention is expected to remain on whether additional local artists will be added to the programme before the event begins.
