The Namibian Police have confirmed the discovery of the lifeless body of a 45-year-old man, identified as Haruwodi Philip Siwana, earlier this week near a public road in Gava village.
According to Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga, Siwana’s body was found under unclear circumstances, and the exact cause of death remains unknown at this stage. However, no signs of foul play have been detected so far.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was last seen at local cuca shops before his body was discovered. In a surprising twist, Siwana’s son whose identity is being withheld to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation was found sitting beside the body, wearing his father’s jacket.
Chief Inspector Muronga stated that the police are treating the matter with caution as investigations continue to piece together the final moments leading up to Siwana’s death.
“The presence of the son at the scene adds a sensitive dimension to the investigation, and we are handling it carefully,” Muronga said.
Siwana’s body has been transported to the nearest mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. Police are urging members of the public who may have seen him before the incident to come forward with any relevant information.
More details will be released as the investigation unfolds.
