Investigation Launched After Walvis Bay Police Officer Allegedly Shot by Suspect

Erongo authorities are investigating a reported shooting in Walvis Bay on Wednesday night, in which a police officer is said to have been shot. Details remain limited as police have not yet officially confirmed the incident.

Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula assured the public that a formal update will be issued once verified information is available.

A video circulating on social media shows a truck driver claiming that the officer was shot during an attempted hijacking of a taxi on Impala Street. Police are currently probing the claims to determine the facts surrounding the alleged attack on law enforcement.
