The Windhoek municipal council has approved a 25-year lease agreement allowing Rani Group International, through its subsidiary Grow More Investments CC, to operate from two portions of the Ramatex Complex in Otjomuise.
The move is expected to boost employment opportunities significantly, with the company projecting a workforce of up to 10,000 people once operations are fully established. Activities at the leased site will focus on logistics and manufacturing.
While the company’s initial proposal included a monthly rental fee of N$100,000 per portion amounting to N$200,000 for both the council withheld approval of this rental figure. Instead, it directed that the final rental amount be negotiated between the municipality and the company, with the agreed figure to be resubmitted for council consideration.
According to the municipality, the arrangement is intended to support Rani Group’s continued operations while contributing to local economic development. However, conditions have been set: if the lease is not finalised by 13 September 2026, all structures must be removed and the land restored to its original state at the company’s expense.
