Followers Worried About Amupanda’s Risky Handling of Firearm, Seen as a Danger to Himself

Affirmative Repositioning (AR) president Job Amupanda has come under fire after posting a video of himself cleaning a firearm on social media.

In the footage, Amupanda is seen handling a pistol along with its loaded magazine, sparking debate among followers who questioned the appropriateness of such a post from a political leader. The video emerged just days after a heated National Assembly incident in which Amupanda and another AR lawmaker were forcefully removed from Parliament for alleged misconduct toward the Speaker.

The video quickly drew mixed reactions online, with many condemning the act as irresponsible. One social media user remarked:

“You are not qualified to be a leader if you are cheap like this. Respect your capacity. What example are you showing to the public?”

Another concerned follower raised the possibility of legal consequences, pointing out that publicly displaying and handling a firearm could be considered a violation of firearm regulations. They further noted that authorities might view such actions as a warning sign, which could lead to temporary detention, seizure of the weapon, or even the revocation of a firearm license.

A third user criticized Amupanda’s firearm safety practices, saying:

“You can clean your weapon in private, but the way you handled it was wrong. No safety precautions were observed. A firearm should always be pointed in a safe direction. Turning the weapon toward yourself is dangerous — proper training is clearly needed.”

The video was also shared alongside commentary from a social media user known as Remain Controversial, who reflected on the recent parliamentary confrontation. Speaking from inside a car while also cleaning a pistol, he stated:

“It is unparliamentary to disrupt the House, to send a member out, to carry a member out, to adjourn the House, to raise useless motions, or to be personal instead of focusing on issues of nation building.”

Amupanda has not yet publicly responded to the criticism surrounding his video.
