Namibia’s Uatjiri Mbaisa and Angola’s Lauriela Martins are set to represent their respective countries on the global pageant stage, continuing Southern Africa’s legacy of beauty and excellence.
Mbaisa, who finished as the first runner-up at Miss Namibia 2025, will represent Namibia at an upcoming international pageant. The stunning model has captured national attention for her elegance and poise, earning strong public support as she prepares to carry Namibia’s flag on the world stage.
Meanwhile, in Luanda, former Miss Universe Angola 2017, Lauriela Martins, was crowned Miss International Angola 2025 during a dazzling ceremony held last night. Representing the Province of Cabinda, the 27-year-old pageant veteran will compete at Miss International 2025 on 27 November 2025 in Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
Both Mbaisa and Martins aim to bring the prestigious title home to Southern Africa for the first time, marking a historic milestone for the region.
Namibia has a proud history in global beauty pageants, Michelle McLean brought home the Miss Universe crown in 1992, Chanique Rabe made history in 2021 as the first African to win Miss Supranational, and Caitlyn Bosman was crowned Miss Global Teen 2025, another first for Namibia.
Angola, on the other hand, celebrates its most notable pageant success through Leila Lopes, who won Miss Universe 2011, becoming the first and only Angolan to hold that title.
As the two beauty queens prepare for their international journeys, both nations are uniting in pride and anticipation, hoping to witness another chapter of African excellence unfold on the global stage.
