Police in the Oshikoto Region have arrested a 39-year-old woman in connection with the brutal killing of her 89-year-old grandmother at Oshamba village in Oniipa constituency.
According to authorities, the suspect believed to be mentally unstable allegedly attacked the elderly woman with pangas while she was asleep.
The victim was later discovered by a neighbour lying in a pool of blood, with two pangas and a knife found nearby, suspected to be the murder weapons.
The accused is expected to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court soon, while police continue their investigation into the incident.
