Ten independent candidates have been confirmed to contest in the upcoming elections in the Kavango East Region, according to Regional Election Officer Paulus Sifire. He said the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is fully committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and well-organized election.
Sifire shared the update during the ECN stakeholder engagement meeting held in Rundu, where he also outlined the commission’s level of preparedness. He announced that a total of 475 polling stations have been identified across the region.
To support the process, 215 polling teams will be deployed, and 1,505 polling officials will be appointed to manage the voting activities. Sifire said these arrangements aim to make the elections smooth, accessible, and credible for all voters in the region.
