A senior official from the Ministry of Education’s Erongo Regional Directorate was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) this afternoon at the Erongo Regional Council offices.
The details surrounding the arrest remain unclear, and the nature of the alleged offence has not yet been disclosed.
According to reports, ACC investigators arrived at the offices and placed the official in handcuffs before escorting her away for questioning.
ACC interim spokesperson, Marina Matundu, confirmed the arrest but declined to provide further details, saying the commission is still gathering facts.
“At this point, the ACC is not in a position to comment on the matter,” Matundu said, adding that the commission will share more information once investigations progress.
The arrest has drawn attention across the region as residents await clarity on the charges and possible implications for the education directorate.
This is a developing story.
