Daughter Detained for Father’s Death

A tragic family incident in Gobabis ended with the death of a father on Thursday evening, after a 25-year-old woman allegedly stabbed him during an argument.
The victim, identified as 51-year-old Levi Afrikaner, was reportedly attacked around 21:37 at Freedom Square in the Eastern Pride residential area.
Police reports indicate that the dispute began earlier in the evening over alcohol that the woman had kept in her room. The disagreement escalated when she allegedly threw stones and bottles inside the house, prompting her mother to intervene and restrain her.
Authorities said that as her mother went to fetch the deceased, the woman confronted her father on their way back, stabbing him in the neck. Emergency services were called, but the father succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The suspect was apprehended immediately and is now held at Gobabis Police Station, while police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
