Man found dead in Oshana water pan with alleged mutilation

The body of a 41-year-old man was discovered floating in a water pan behind Oluno Correctional Facility in the Oshana Region on Sunday.
Police said the deceased was found with serious injuries to his genital area, including the absence of his testicles, which are suspected to have been cut. Blood was also observed on his underwear, and officers noted swelling on his face during a preliminary examination.
According to police, the discovery was made after a passer-by noticed the body in the water and immediately alerted officers at the Oluno Police Station.
The deceased has been identified, a resident of Okakwiyu village near Onethindi. His next of kin have been informed.
Oshana Regional Crime Investigation Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, said police suspect foul play and have opened a murder investigation. He added that investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible.
