Police Arrest Soldier Following Discovery of Mutilated Body in Oshana

Police in the Oshana Region have arrested a 25-year-old soldier in connection with the murder of a man whose body was later found mutilated.
Oshana regional police spokesperson, Inspector Frieda Hashiyana, confirmed that the suspect was apprehended in Ondangwa on Monday. The suspect has not yet made a court appearance.
Inspector Hashiyana stated that investigations into the matter are still underway and that police have not ruled out the possibility of further arrests as the case develops.
The victim was subsequently identified as 41-year-old Salom Nikanor from Okakwiyu village in the Onethindi area. His body was discovered in a water pan on Sunday morning, with police confirming that the deceased’s testicles were missing.
Police further confirmed that the deceased’s next of kin have been informed of the incident.
