Senior Soldier Found Dead at Grootfontein Military Base

Authorities have opened an investigation after a senior soldier was found dead at the Grootfontein Military Base early on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Staff Sergeant Eben Kenaruzo, who served in the base’s Logistics Department.
Preliminary information indicates that Staff Sergeant Kenaruzo was discovered at around 05:40 in the shower area of the barracks. He was reportedly seated against a wall and was dressed only in his underwear. A cup containing a small quantity of clear liquid, believed to be water, was found close to him.
Officials say there are currently no reports of any known chronic medical conditions, and the cause of death remains unknown. His body was taken to the Grootfontein State Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to determine what led to his death.
Police have confirmed that the soldier’s family has been informed, while investigations into the circumstances of the incident are continuing. More details are expected to be released once they become available.
