Erongo police spokesperson Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula said preliminary information suggests that Tsowaseb had spent the evening drinking with friends before returning home. It is further alleged that he was staying with his girlfriend, who had prepared a meal for him earlier that night before leaving to sleep at her mother’s house.

Reports indicate that while the girlfriend was asleep, she was alerted by community members who informed her that her boyfriend had died in a fire at the house. Police allege that the deceased had locked himself inside the dwelling before the fire broke out.
