Police Identify Officer Who Took His Own Life, Woman’s Condition Revealed

New details have emerged following a shooting incident in Khomasdal, where a police officer died and his partner survived with injuries.
Authorities have now named the officer as Ivanoi Inacio Vatilifa, who was involved in a domestic dispute at a house in the area on Saturday night. During the confrontation, the situation allegedly turned violent.
Police reports indicate that the officer fired a service firearm, striking his girlfriend in the neck before taking his own life. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Vatilifa was declared dead on arrival.
The injured woman, a 36-year-old Namibian citizen, was transported to Katutura State Hospital for urgent medical care. Police have confirmed that her condition is stable.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
