Crocodile Killed Illegally, Body Parts Removed in Bunya Village

Authorities in the Kavango West Region have opened an investigation following the discovery of a crocodile carcass in Bunya village, where parts of the animal were removed without legal authorisation.
Police reported that the crocodile was allegedly killed illegally. Initial findings indicate that the brain, gall bladder and a portion of the tail had been taken before officials recovered the remains.
The carcass has been secured as evidence while investigations continue. No arrests had been announced at the time of reporting.

Law enforcement officials have urged members of the public to cooperate by reporting any activities that violate wildlife protection laws. They warned that offences under the Nature Conservation Ordinance carry serious legal consequences, including prosecution.
The incident has renewed concerns about the illegal killing of protected wildlife, which authorities say threatens conservation efforts and biodiversity in the region.
