A 26-year-old man dies after alleged spear attack in Okahandja

A 26-year-old man died in Okahandja on Tuesday after allegedly being struck with a spear during a physical fight at Ekunde Number 2 location.
The deceased, identified as Hoabeb Riwaldo Ricoberto, reportedly suffered an open wound to the back of his neck during the confrontation. He was taken to Okahandja State Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to Otjozondjupa Police spokesperson and Community Liaison Officer Maureen Mbeha, the incident followed an alleged robbery involving a 17-year-old boy.
Police said the teenager was allegedly robbed of a tablet by three men. He later returned with three friends and went to the house of one of the alleged suspects.
A fight reportedly broke out when they arrived. During the confrontation, Ricoberto was allegedly struck with a spear.
Four Namibian male suspects, aged 17, 25, 27 and 31, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court this week as police investigations continue.
