Two Killed by Lightning in Kavango Regions Over Weekend

The Namibian Police have confirmed two separate lightning-related fatalities in the Kavango East and Kavango West regions over the weekend.
In the first incident, a 56-year-old man identified as Marando Bernhard Dikoro was discovered dead on Friday afternoon behind the Total service station in Divundu, Kavango East. According to police information, his body was found under a tree at approximately 17h50 following a storm in the area. Authorities suspect he was struck by lightning. No signs of foul play were detected, and an inquest docket has been opened.
In a separate case on Saturday, Rarufa Munango lost his life after being struck by lightning at around 14h00 at Ntara village in the Musese Constituency, Kavango West. He was reportedly tending to cattle with other individuals at the time of the incident and died instantly.
Police have confirmed that the next of kin in both cases have been notified. Investigations into the incidents are continuing.
