Official: Real Madrid Confirm José Mourinho as New Manager Until 2029

Real Madrid have officially confirmed the return of legendary Portuguese coach José Mourinho as first-team manager on a three-year contract running until June 30, 2029.
The decision was approved by the club’s Board of Directors during a meeting chaired by president Florentino Pérez on Thursday, June 11. Mourinho is set to begin his second spell at the Santiago Bernabéu when he officially takes charge on July 13, the day Real Madrid’s preseason preparations get underway.
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey, and one Spanish Super Cup. His return marks one of the biggest managerial appointments in world football ahead of the 2026/27 season.

“The Board of Directors of Real Madrid C.F., meeting today, Thursday, June 11, and chaired by Florentino Pérez, has agreed to appoint José Mourinho as the first-team coach for the next three seasons, until June 30, 2029.
José Mourinho will join Real Madrid on July 13th, the day when preseason will begin.”
The appointment ends weeks of speculation surrounding Mourinho’s future after his departure from Benfica and signals the start of a new era under Florentino Pérez.
