Seven Namibians have been accused of trying to help a 25-year-old Zimbabwean national, Simon Takudzwa, obtain Namibian citizenship illegally. The group allegedly provided him with official letters to present at the Ministry of Home Affairs, aiming to secure a Namibian birth certificate for him.

Takudzwa and the seven Namibians were arrested and charged with forgery and other related offenses. Today, Takudzwa was denied bail in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court.

Court records show that Takudzwa was deported from Namibia in 2023 but managed to return to the country.

The accused Namibians include:

  • Isack Tjukunga (67) – A local pastor accused of issuing a baptism card.
  • Petrus Divingi (74) – A headman of Sauyemwa East accused of providing a birth confirmation letter.
  • Johannes Hasheela (48) – Allegedly claimed to be Takudzwa’s biological father.
  • Presita Ndara (25) – Said to be Takudzwa’s girlfriend and involved in the conspiracy.
  • Eugenia Hausiku (56) – Acting principal of a local primary school, accused of issuing a school testimonial.
  • Paula Moses (26) – A church secretary also involved in the alleged fraud.
  • Maria Haikera (45) – Allegedly pretended to be Takudzwa’s biological mother.

The seven Namibian suspects were granted bail of N$4,000 each. Their next court appearance is scheduled for June 4, 2025.
