Namibia, Uganda explore new investment opportunities

Namibia and Uganda are looking to deepen economic ties through increased investment and trade, following a meeting between President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and a Ugandan delegation led by former State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Henry Okello Oryem.
The delegation, which included prospective investors, paid a courtesy visit to President Nandi-Ndaitwah today, with discussions centred on expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Key areas identified for potential collaboration include energy, agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), security and youth empowerment.
Oryem reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to Pan-Africanism and called for stronger intra-African trade and investment, particularly through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He also praised President Nandi-Ndaitwah’s development vision for Namibia, saying the delegation is prepared to explore strategic partnerships that could support industrialisation, create employment opportunities and promote sustainable economic growth.
The engagement comes as both countries seek to strengthen bilateral relations beyond political cooperation by creating greater opportunities for businesses and investors across the continent.
