African Stars FC Sign Liam CJ April from SAFA ABC Motsepe League, South Africa’s Third Tier

African Stars FC have signed 21-year-old central defensive midfielder Liam CJ April from Cape Town-based Hope FC, who compete in the SAFA ABC Motsepe League, South Africa’s third tier.

April joins African Stars as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the CAF Champions League Preliminary Round, bringing additional energy, discipline and strength to the midfield.

April arrival follows the signing of Liberian striker Rufus Pukkie Sackie Jr from Jomo Cosmos, who also compete in the SAFA ABC Motsepe League, South Africa’s third tier. Jomo Cosmos finished 12th in the Gauteng Group 1A during the 2025/26 season.

The two additions form part of African Stars’ preparations for their upcoming continental campaign.
