Dani Carvajal Joins Getafe After Real Madrid Departure

Spanish defender Dani Carvajal has officially joined Getafe CF, signing a contract that will keep him at the La Liga club until June 30, 2027.
The 34-year-old right-back begins a new chapter in his career after ending his long association with Real Madrid earlier this year when his contract expired. His move keeps him in the Spanish capital as he prepares to continue competing at the highest level of Spanish football.
Getafe confirmed the signing on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, highlighting the experience and leadership the veteran defender is expected to bring to the squad.
Carvajal leaves Real Madrid with an outstanding record of success, having won 27 trophies with the club’s first team. His achievements include six UEFA Champions League titles, four La Liga championships and two Copa del Rey trophies.
At international level, Carvajal has represented Spain 51 times and was part of the national team that won the 2024 European Championship. He also helped Spain secure the UEFA Nations League title in 2023.
His arrival gives Getafe a defender with extensive experience in major domestic and international competitions, as the club looks to strengthen its options for the remainder of the season.
Getafe welcomed their new signing and expressed their hopes for a successful spell at the club, with Carvajal now set to represent the Azulones at the Coliseum stadium.
The move marks a fresh challenge for one of Spain’s most decorated defenders following his departure from the club where he established himself as a key figure for more than a decade.
