Namibia has dropped one place in the latest FIFA Men’s World Ranking, with the Brave Warriors moving from 121st to 122nd following their two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 qualifying matches in September.

Namibia is now listed on 1,148.33 points, according to the latest ranking figures.

The Brave Warriors had been ranked 121st in the world in FIFA’s 20 July 2026 official ranking, with 1,148.84 points. The team had remained in 121st position in the July update, making the latest one-place drop its first movement from that position following the September international window.

Namibia began its September international campaign with a positive result, defeating Congo 1–0 on 24 September in an AFCON 2027 Group G qualifier.

The victory gave the Brave Warriors three important points in their qualifying campaign before they travelled to the Comoros for their second match.

However, Namibia was unable to maintain its winning start, losing 1–0 to Comoros in Moroni on 29 September.

The two results left Namibia with three points from its opening two AFCON 2027 qualifying matches.

The Brave Warriors are scheduled to face Russia in an international friendly on 3 October, giving the team another opportunity to earn a positive result before the next official FIFA ranking update.

Morocco has meanwhile made a significant move in the latest ranking figures, climbing to fifth place in the world with 1,808.18 points.

Nigeria reached fifth place in April 1994 following its successful period at the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations. FIFA’s historical ranking data lists fifth as Nigeria’s highest-ever position.

Morocco’s rise continues a remarkable period for the Atlas Lions, who have established themselves among Africa’s leading national teams on the international stage.

For the Brave Warriors, attention now turns to the 3 October friendly against Russia, followed by the continuation of the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign.
