Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology is set to be introduced from the group stage of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup starting this season.

CAF Acting General Secretary Samson Adamu confirmed the development to Micky Jnr, marking a significant step towards expanding the use of video technology in African club football.

The introduction of VAR from the group stage is expected to assist match officials in reviewing key decisions during both competitions.
