Atlético Petróleos de Luanda Eliminate Scotland FC From CAF Champion League

Angolan giants Atlético Petróleos de Luanda booked their place in the group stage of the 2026/27 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League after securing a 3-0 victory over Zimbabwean side Scottland FC, progressing 3-2 on aggregate.
Scottland FC had entered the return leg with a 2-0 advantage after winning the first encounter on home soil. However, Petróleos de Luanda produced a strong response to overturn the deficit and end the Zimbabwean club’s continental campaign.
The first leg was also marked by an early setback for the Angolan side, who were reduced to 10 men after their goalkeeper received a red card within the opening five minutes.
For Scottland FC, the defeat brings their Champions League journey to an end for the 2026/27 season. The Zimbabwean club will now turn its attention to domestic football as it looks to strengthen its position in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, where it has also lost the top spot.
Their focus will now be on the league campaign as they seek to respond to the disappointment of their continental exit.
