The Erongo Police have launched a search for 48-year-old Deidre Meyer, who was reported missing by her father, Mr. Theodor Meyer, earlier this week. The case is registered as Walvis Bay Missing Persons Case 2/2025 and was confirmed by Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba.
According to Mr. Meyer, Deidre left their home at 16 A Aoub Street in Meersig on Monday, 14 April, around 18:40. She borrowed his white Suzuki Jimny (registration N 212 WB), saying she was going to Metro. Since then, she has not returned, and her phone has been off. All attempts to contact her have failed.
Mr. Meyer said he does not remember what clothes Deidre was wearing when she left. He also contacted her workplace and was informed that she has not been at work since Monday. He described Deidre as someone who doesn’t smoke or drink, and said her sudden disappearance is unusual.

Chief Inspector Shapumba is asking the public and the media to help share the information to help find Deidre.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts or who may have seen the white Suzuki Jimny is urged to contact Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu at 081 246 4757, Detective Warrant Officer Sibalatani Simataa at 081 437 7841, or go to the nearest police station.
